If you had purchased $1,000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $42 left.
With Lehman, you would have $6.60 left.
With Fannie or Freddie, you would have less than $5 left.
But if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.
Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink
heavily and recycle.
It's called the 401-Keg.....
and in this article it appears that for each pack of cigarettes I buy, I save Americans 32 cents in costs related to my health care and retirement costs. Because I'm probably going to die before 65.
Drinking and smoking don't look so bad now. Huh?

Fuck this, Mike.
There's no way that I would ever put up with this shit.
My old man fought in WWII.
This is far too close to the fucking bone.
Mike,
why do you feel it's necessary to apologize for this:
It is obvious to me, at least, that you have a tenuous grip on reality. That your megalomania eventually sours your online relationships. That saddens me. I've seen it before, with other people. By the way, there is a blog called 'Wild Wild Left' that might be more receptive to your trollbusting. Maybe you'd be happier there.
I don't get it.
/Yes, Karmafish is obsessed about what Diane says about him./
Hmph!
Very fair post, DA.
Tho, in truth, I cannot even begin to see how she is proving what she sets out to prove. In fact, it's not entirely clear just what she is setting out to prove.
Nonetheless, about as fair as one can get, I think.
(I really hate that.)
;O)
Cool! I caught up on your blog in just a couple of minutes. Unlike others on my blogroll, where it will take forever to get caught up on them. Assuming I start. I just have lost that blogging feeling, you know? Life is too busy to sit at the computer, now that I am suddenly a senior advisor to the Brigade. So deeply weird. I am the senior spouse, and will stay that way, since the new commander is single.
Mark is the DCO of a new brigade, acting CO until the guy arrives. It's a brand new brigade, Mark started building it in March, and is really enjoying it. STill. Deeply weird that I am expected to be the advisor for the families and the family readiness group.
